Dali	Hey all ! I was looking for your feedback on whether a couple of changes I would like to make will void my warranty. First, I want the car to sound a little more throaty. Thinking of removing the baffles. Any other suggestions without spending alot of money? Second, would like to replace the stock air filter with a larger filter area. I hear this improves airflow, adds a more throaty sound, and increases horsepower. I do no want to entertain the idea of superchargers, NOS, and the like. Just a little more sound is all I want. Any help, advice, or suggestions, will be greatly appreciated. GRROWL	The only way anything could void your warranty is if the dealer could prove it was directly responsible for a failure. NOS and Superchargers are pretty provable; removing the baffles would be impossible to prove as the cause of a failure - they do not change anything that would harm anything else. Adding an aftermarket Mopar exhaust would reduce the backpressure more than removing the baffles. I share your view and have held off of on gears or supercharger for the same reason. I did pull the baffles, and I am glad that I did. On the air intake, you may want to rethink it, but only partially for warrantee reasons. First, there seems to have been an inherent defect in the filter itself from the most popular aftermarket air intake - the hotmelt glue that held the aluminum end-cap on it melted in the underhood temperature, the element separated, with the result that there was NO AIR FILTER at all. Several members, including myself, were highly upset. Secondly, the jury is out if a "cold-air" intake improves or hurts performance. You should search the subject on this site. The tradeoff seems to be higher airflow, but MUCH hotter air. The stock airbox takes in ambient air through the doorjamb area; the aftermarket takes it in from the engine compartment. Some enterprising members have measured the underhood temperature to be about 60 degrees above ambient. This may be a case where stock is actually better than aftermarket. If you JUST HAVE TO DO SOMETHING, I'd suggest a high-flow filter (such as K&N) in the stock airbox. Is this more of an answer than you were looking for? -GRROWL

Marty Usher	As stated before by others, mods will NOT void the warantee unless they contribute to a problem. For your own piece of mind, you may want to check with your service manager when considering performance mods. I wouldn't know because I have kept mine absolutely bone stock and don't drive mine much. ------------------ 2000 Black with hand painted blue faded to purple flames
DR PROWLER	i totally agree with the air filter,exhaust etc. You have to add a little artistic expression somehow to go along with the user name-perhaps instead of fuzzy dice have fuzzy Picasso or something like that...
MY TOY	I just removed my baffles today and it was one of the easiest thing I have ever done to a car. A couple of whacks with a small chisel, punched the rest of the rivet into the baffle with a small torque bit, grabbed it with a pair of vise gripes and it came right out. Took about 10-15 min tops. Don't really see a difference in sound but will leave them out. Why do I need to reset my computer as was stated in previous posts.
